Common Washer Problems We Fix
β
Washer Not Spinning
One of the most common washer complaints we get. Clothes sitting soaking wet at the end of a cycle usually points to a worn drive belt, a failed lid lock on top-load models, a motor coupling issue, or an out-of-balance load triggering the machine to stop. We diagnose the specific cause and fix it correctly.
β
Washer Not Draining
Standing water left in the drum after a cycle is almost always a clogged pump filter, a failed drain pump, or a kinked drain hose. We carry drain pump components on every truck and most draining issues are resolved same visit.
β
Washer Leaking Water
Water on your laundry room floor is never a good sign. Leaks can come from a worn door boot seal on front-loaders, a cracked hose, a failing water inlet valve, or a damaged pump. We find the source fast and fix it before it damages your floor or subfloor.
β
Washer Making Loud Noises
Banging, grinding, rattling, or squealing during a wash or spin cycle usually points to worn drum bearings, a loose drum spider, foreign objects caught in the drum, or a failing motor. These issues get worse over time β worth getting checked sooner rather than later.
β
Washer Shaking Excessively
Some vibration is normal. Violent shaking that moves the machine across the floor is not. Usually caused by worn shock absorbers or suspension rods, an unbalanced drum, or an unlevel machine. We diagnose the cause and fix it properly.
β
Washer Not Starting
If your washer will not start at all, the issue could be a faulty control board, a failed lid lock or door latch, a broken timer, or a wiring issue. We run a full diagnostic before recommending any parts replacement.
β
Washer Displaying Error Codes
Modern washers display error codes that can be confusing β F5, F8, E1, UL, and others. These codes point to specific component failures. Our technicians know what each code means and use them to diagnose the problem accurately.
β
Washer Not Filling With Water
If your washer will not fill or fills very slowly, the water inlet valve is usually the culprit. It can also be a kinked hose, a clogged inlet screen, or a pressure switch issue. We identify the exact cause before starting any repair.
β
Washer Smelling Like Mold or Mildew
Front-load washers especially are prone to mold and mildew buildup around the door seal and drum. We clean and treat the affected areas and advise on how to prevent it from coming back.
β
Washer Door or Lid Not Locking
A washer that will not lock will not run β it is a safety feature. Door latch and lid lock failures are among the most common washer repairs we do, and in most cases we carry the replacement part on the truck.
