Common Dishwasher Problems We Fix
β
Dishwasher Not Cleaning Dishes
If your dishwasher is running full cycles but dishes are coming out dirty or with food still on them, the issue is usually a clogged spray arm, a failed wash pump, low water temperature, or a water inlet valve not letting enough water into the unit. We inspect the full wash system and identify the exact cause.
β
Dishwasher Not Draining
Standing water at the bottom of the dishwasher after a cycle is one of the most common complaints we get. Usually caused by a clogged drain filter, a failed drain pump, a kinked drain hose, or a blocked garbage disposal connection. We carry drain pump components on every truck and most draining issues are resolved same visit.
β
Dishwasher Leaking Water
Water on your kitchen floor is never a good sign. Dishwasher leaks can come from a worn door gasket, a cracked door latch assembly, a failed water inlet valve, a loose hose connection, or a damaged pump seal. We find the source of the leak fast and fix it before it damages your flooring or cabinets.
β
Dishwasher Not Starting
If your dishwasher will not start at all, the issue could be a faulty door latch that is not triggering the door switch, a failed control board, a blown thermal fuse, or a wiring issue. We run a full diagnostic to find the exact cause before recommending any parts replacement.
β
Dishwasher Making Loud Noises
Grinding, humming, banging, or rattling during a wash cycle usually points to a worn wash pump motor, debris caught in the pump or spray arm, a failing circulation pump, or loose spray arm hardware. We diagnose the noise source and fix it correctly.
β
Dishwasher Not Drying Dishes
If dishes are coming out wet even on the heated dry setting, the heating element has likely failed, the vent is not opening properly, or the rinse aid dispenser is empty or broken. We test the full drying system and repair the specific cause.
β
Dishwasher Door Not Latching
A dishwasher that will not run because the door will not latch is usually a broken door latch assembly or a failed door switch. These are among the most common dishwasher repairs we do and we carry replacement parts on every truck.
β
Detergent Dispenser Not Opening
If the detergent door is not opening during the wash cycle, dishes will not get clean no matter how long the cycle runs. Usually caused by a failed bi-metal release, a broken spring, or a wax motor issue. We diagnose and replace the specific component that has failed.
β
Dishwasher Displaying Error Codes
Modern dishwashers display error codes that point to specific component failures. Our technicians know what each code means for every major brand and use them to diagnose the problem accurately rather than guessing.
β
Dishwasher Not Filling With Water
If your dishwasher is not filling with water, the water inlet valve is usually the culprit. It can also be a float switch stuck in the up position, a kinked water supply line, or a control board issue. We test the full water supply system and fix the actual cause.
