Common Commercial Dishwasher Problems We Fix
β
Dishes Not Getting Clean
If dishes are coming out of your commercial dishwasher still dirty, the most common causes are clogged or damaged spray arms not rotating properly, a weak wash pump not generating enough pressure, low water temperature, a clogged wash tank filter, or insufficient detergent dosing. We inspect the full wash system and identify the exact cause.
β
Machine Not Reaching Temperature
Proper wash and rinse temperatures are critical for sanitation in a commercial dishwasher. If the machine is not reaching required temperatures, the heating element may have failed, the thermostat may be faulty, or there may be a scale buildup on the heating element reducing its efficiency. We test the full heating system and repair the specific cause.
β
Commercial Dishwasher Not Draining
Standing water in the wash tank after a cycle is almost always a clogged drain filter, a failed drain pump, or a blocked drain line. We carry drain pump components on every truck and most commercial dishwasher drainage issues are resolved same visit.
β
Machine Leaking Water
Water leaking from a commercial dishwasher onto the floor is a slip hazard and a health issue. Leaks can come from a worn door gasket, a cracked wash arm, a loose hose connection, a failed pump seal, or an overflowing wash tank. We find the source of the leak and fix it correctly.
β
Wash Pump Failure
The wash pump is the heart of the commercial dishwasher β it generates the pressure that drives water through the spray arms. A failing or failed wash pump results in poor cleaning performance or no wash action at all. We diagnose pump issues accurately and replace only what is needed.
β
Rinse Temperature Too Low
On high-temperature machines, the final rinse must reach a minimum temperature to sanitize properly. If the rinse temperature is too low, the machine is not sanitizing and you are at risk of a health code violation. Usually caused by a failed booster heater, a faulty rinse thermostat, or scale buildup on the heating element.
β
Door or Hood Not Closing Properly
A commercial dishwasher that will not run because the door or hood is not closing correctly usually has a worn door gasket, a broken door spring, a damaged hinge, or a faulty door switch. These are common repairs we complete same visit in most cases.
β
Chemical Dispensing Issues
If detergent or sanitizer is not being dispensed correctly, dishes will not be cleaned or sanitized properly regardless of how well the mechanical system is working. We diagnose chemical dispenser issues and advise on correct dosing settings for your specific machine and water conditions.
β
Conveyor Drive Not Working
On conveyor and rack conveyor machines, a failed conveyor drive motor or a broken drive chain stops the machine from moving racks through the wash zones. We repair conveyor drive systems on all major commercial dishwasher brands.
β
Control Panel and Error Codes
Modern commercial dishwashers have electronic control systems that manage wash cycles, temperatures, chemical dosing, and alarms. When these fail the machine may behave erratically, display error codes, or stop working entirely. We diagnose control system issues accurately and replace only what is needed.
